A top-down fishing game.
The Counting Prototype was developed as part of the Unity Junior Programmer Pathway. It also serves the prototype for the “Trawler Experience”, which counts the catch and bycatch of various fishing methods in a simulated ecosystem. Using NavMesh for player movement and a modified counting script that keeps track of species caught by the player’s fishing net, the Trawler Experience demonstrates ability for game design and prototype execution. It will be expanded on in later version to include a more realistic fishing mechanic and introduce other fishing techniques that can affect the catch and bycatch of certain species.
